About the Author
Maddie Witter presents nationally and internationally to help schools better their students’ literacy and develop rigorous reading programs. She is the author of Reading Without Limits. Maddie was a founding teacher of KIPP Infinity Charter School, one of the top-performing middle schools in New York City. At KIPP Infinity, Maddie taught literacy and was the school’s founding director of instruction for six years, supervising teacher development and curriculum for the reading, writing, content, and nonfiction studies programs. In 2007, Maddie was honored to be one of ten teachers to receive a national KIPP Excellence in Teaching prize. Currently, Maddie is working on building a school for incarcerated youth in Australia.
